Most often hearing loss is gradual and painless, diminishing so slowly that it is barely noticeable. However, with the help of hearing devices, you can begin to hear speech more clearly as well as improve your communication with others. Hearing instruments will not restore your natural hearing. Nor are they a perfect solution that will work in every situation. It is important to have realistic expectations. For example, you may not be able to hear people talking in the next room, and it may be necessary to still directly face your conversation partner even with hearing devices. It all depends on the nature and severity of your hearing loss. The only sure thing is that you have to give hearing devices a try in order to know how beneficial they will be in improving the hearing you have.
