DIGITAL NOISE REDUCTION

Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) has become a standard feature in many new hearing instruments over the past few years. Many wearers have reported improved speech understanding, reduced irritation from background noise, and/or a more comfortable listening experience. These reports haven't been backed by scientific evidence until now. Recently, a small study revealed that adults preferred devices with DNR over devices without DNR for everyday listening situations. In fact, the DNR was preferred in quiet even more than in noisy situations. DNR is an important feature for consumers to consider when purchasing hearing devices.
